What the badge means
The Cerca Verified badge (✓) appears on a provider's profile when they have successfully completed our identity verification process. It tells you. Before you book. That the person you're hiring is a real, identified individual.
What it does NOT mean
Cerca Verified confirms a provider's identity. It does not vouch for the quality of their work, their credentials, or their professional licensing. It simply means: the person in the profile is who they say they are.
How providers get verified
1
Provider pays a one-time $9.99 fee (covers the cost of the identity check).
2
Provider completes a government-issued ID scan (passport, driver's license, or national ID) using Stripe Identity. The same technology banks use.
3
A selfie match is performed to confirm the ID belongs to the person submitting it.
4
If the check passes, the Cerca Verified badge is added to their profile automatically.
Privacy & data
ID photos and verification data are processed by Stripe Identity and are not stored by Cerca. Cerca only receives a pass/fail result. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Frequently asked questions
Q: If a provider is NOT verified, does that mean they're untrustworthy?
No. Many excellent providers haven't completed verification yet. It's optional and takes time. Always check reviews, ratings, and portfolio photos as well.
Q: Can a provider lose their Verified badge?
Yes. If a provider violates Cerca's community guidelines or their identity check is disputed, their badge may be removed.
Q: I'm a provider. How do I get verified?
Open the Cerca app → Profile → Your Badges → Cerca Verified. The process takes about 5 minutes.
Q: Is $9.99 refundable if I fail the check?
No. The fee covers the cost of the identity check itself, which is charged whether the check passes or fails.
Q: Does verification mean I'm licensed?
No. Cerca Verified only confirms identity, not professional licensing, certifications, or credentials. Providers are responsible for meeting all local licensing requirements.
