Community Guidelines
Cerca is a marketplace built on trust — between customers and local service providers who work hard to build their businesses. These guidelines exist to keep that trust intact. By using Cerca, you agree to follow them.
Violations — including harassment, fraud, or repeated unprofessional conduct — may result in a warning, temporary suspension, or permanent account removal at Cerca's discretion.
🤝
Be respectful
Treat every provider and customer with kindness and professionalism. Harassment, hate speech, or threatening language of any kind will not be tolerated.
🛡️
Stay safe
When a provider has Stripe set up, deposits are paid securely through the app. The remaining balance can be settled in person or in-app. Providers without Stripe collect full payment in person — both models are allowed. Never share passwords or sensitive financial details.
✅
Be honest
Represent yourself and your services accurately. Fake, incentivized, or retaliatory reviews hurt the whole community and may result in removal.
🚩
Report concerns
If something feels wrong, use the in-app report button. Our team reviews every flag. You can also email us at support@app-cerca.com.
💼
Keep it professional
Messages are monitored to help keep Cerca safe. Keep conversations on topic and relevant to services, bookings, and scheduling.
🚫
No fraudulent payment solicitation
Do not ask customers to wire money, send Venmo, or pay via Zelle before a service has been completed. In-person cash payment after service is fine — pre-service off-platform transfer requests are a red flag and against our policy.
For Customers
- Show up on time and communicate promptly if plans change. Repeated no-shows may result in booking restrictions.
- Leave honest, fair reviews based on your real experience. Reviews help the whole community make informed decisions.
- Respect providers' time and workspace. Treat service professionals the way you would want to be treated.
- If you have a problem with a service, try resolving it directly with the provider first before escalating to Cerca.
For Providers
- Describe your services, pricing, and availability accurately. Customers rely on this information to make booking decisions.
- Complete your Stripe identity verification before accepting payments. This protects you and your customers.
- Honor confirmed bookings. If something comes up, notify your customer as soon as possible and cancel through the app.
- Never solicit pre-service payments via Venmo, Zelle, wire transfer, or similar. In-person payment after a completed service is allowed. Deposits, when required, must go through the app — this is what protects both parties.
Messaging & Monitoring
Cerca monitors in-app conversations to detect fraud, harassment, and policy violations. By using the messaging feature, you acknowledge that messages may be reviewed by our team. Do not share private financial account numbers, passwords, or other sensitive information in chat.
Messages that contain hate speech, explicit threats, spam, or solicitations to send money before a service is completed (via Venmo, Zelle, wire, etc.) will result in immediate account review and may lead to suspension.
Reviews & Ratings
Reviews must be based on a real, first-hand experience with the provider or customer. We prohibit:
- Reviews posted by friends, family, or anyone with a personal interest in the outcome
- Retaliatory reviews posted in response to a negative review you received
- Reviews that contain personal information, hate speech, or unrelated content
Cerca reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these policies.
Safety & Prohibited Services
Cerca does not conduct criminal background checks or verify provider licenses, certifications, or insurance. All providers are verified by email only. Customers are responsible for independently verifying provider credentials and suitability before allowing a provider into their home or property.
The following categories of services are prohibited on Cerca:
- Any service that is illegal in the provider's or customer's jurisdiction
- Adult or sexually explicit services
- Services that require a professional license that the provider cannot demonstrate (e.g. medical procedures, legal advice)
- Services classified as restricted by Stripe's Restricted Business Policy
How to Report a Violation
The fastest way to report a concern is to use the in-app report button on a provider or customer profile. You can also email us:
These guidelines are part of Cerca's Terms of Service. Cerca may update these guidelines at any time. Continued use of the platform after updates are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised guidelines.
